Store Policies

Customer satisfaction has always been our guiding principle at The Swim Shop. Our customers are our friends and family – our neighbors and community members. We value fairness and transparency, and will make every attempt to solve problems as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Below you will find most of our policies and a list of frequently asked questions. Returns, Exchanges, and Damage

We strive to maintain fair and transparent policies regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds. Please familiarize yourself with the following policies so that the process will be as convenient and fast as possible: 

Once a suit has been exposed to water, we CAN NOT accept it back for return or exchange!

No returns will be accepted of monogram or custom items (including but not limited to: Backpacks, Parkas, Suits, Caps, Etc.)

Within 15 days from the date of purchase you may return items for a refund. Items must be unused, tagged, not custom, and in original packaging. Purchases made online will be refunded via PayPal after the item has been received and verified. Original shipping costs will not be refunded and the customer must also pay the return shipping cost. Exchanges are available for 15 days from the date of purchase. Items must be unused, tagged, not custom, and in original packaging. If a received item is defective or differs from the item ordered then customer has 30 days to return or exchange the item. Please mark it as such when submitting the Return Form. Customer must initially pay for a return label but upon receiving the item(s), The Swim Shop will examine them to determine eligibility for a return shipping refund via PayPal. 

Tech Suit Policy

All in-stock Technical Suits require a one time try-on fee of $20.00 (not per suit) to be paid prior to fitting. This fee helps us to provide you with a personalized fitting that requires a salesperson’s extended time, expertise, pre/post suit inspection and cleaning. The $20.00 fee will be taken off the purchase price of your suit. If you do not purchase a suit, a voucher will be issued for the fee to be used for the purchase of a Technical Suit within 1 year of date of visit.

NOTE: EXCLUDING FINAL CLEARANCE ITEMS, Technical suits that were purchased without a fitting by The Swim Shop personnel must be returned within 15 days with receipt. A refund will be approved at our discretion (the suit must be in original sales condition) and the return will be subject to a $20.00 restocking/cleaning fee. THE CYBER MONDAY SALE ITEMS ARE FINAL CLEARANCE AND AS SUCH ARE NON- RETURNABLE.

All returns and/or exchanges for ANY other reason must be approved by the store manager during regular business hours…NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you are eligible for an exchange and the item has become backordered since the time of purchase, we will contact you to determine whether you prefer to wait or to be refunded instead.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Yes, absolutely! We are set up to process payments via PayPal checkout, which adds an extra layer of safety to our security-focused systems. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use this checkout, and may pay with all the major credit cards as a guest. We encourage users to sign up for PayPal for even more buyer protection and peace of mind.

The shipping cost will depend on the weight and size of the items being shipped, as well as where the items are being shipped to. We offer shipping via USPS Priority, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground, whichever is the cheapest to your location.

We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. Returns, exchanges, and refunds will depend on a few factors, including the category of item, the date of purchase, and more. Most items must be returned within  15 days from the date of purchase, in original and unused condition, with original packaging, tags, and proof of purchase. Clearance sales and custom items (team logos, embroidery, caps, etc) cannot be returned or exchanged.  If you have any questions please feel free to email us at theswimshopde@aol.com.

If you have an issue with an item that you purchased at the store, you can bring it back with your receipt. If the item has a manufactures defect we will be happy to replace the item, provided it adheres to the policies laid out on our store policies page. If you purchased and item online that has a defect please follow the instructions laid out on the aforementioned page.

We currently do not offer a printed catalog.

We always suggest trying on the suit if possible first as each vendor and style may fit you differently. If you are unable to try-on the suit first, please refer to our sizing charts for detailed information about manufacturer sizing guidelines.

Our “grab bag” or “practice suits” are discontinued prints at discount pricing. Grab bags are eligible for size or style exchange.

Absolutely not! The only emails you will receive from us are periodic offers, updates, and discounts.

Yes. We currently accept POs from teams who we have worked with in the past. If you are a new team or organization who would like to start an account please contact a manager to set you up an account. For all other purchases, we accept credit card orders only.

Credits usually take a maximum of 7-10 business days to post from the time we receive your item(s), but this is dependent upon your bank’s policy. Check with your financial institution for accurate information regarding their holding times.

Yes we do offer Gift Cards. We can make these in any value you would like. Please contact us directly to activate a card for you today.

We accept Visa and Master Card, and Discover credit cards, we also accept cash and personal checks.

Lycra (Spandex) is softer and has greater stretch capability allowing for more flexibility. However due to the rubberized elastic material Lycra tends to breakdown earlier than Polyester because the chlorine attacks the rubberized elastic material in the fabric. Polyester materials like Durafast Polester or Endurance Polyester are soft and comfortable for swimwear but the material has less stretch than because it uses less rubberized elastic material in the fabric allowing it to last longer than the average Lycra suit.
